■ Event Highlights

Seven Chinese EV manufacturers, including BYD, which plans to begin production in Thailand from 2025, participated as buyers. The event welcomed 44,773 visitors, an increase of 2,000 from the previous year, and resulted in a total of 916 business meetings over four days, with an estimated transaction value of THB 415,593,286. There was particularly strong interest from Chinese EV manufacturers in finding local suppliers, and many Japanese exhibitors reported a high number of concrete business negotiations. In cooperation with the Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association, the event also actively promoted matching between Thai local suppliers and Japanese companies. Over 100 high-quality local companies exhibited in the subcontracting zone, and fruitful business connections were made.
Furthermore, the event gained even greater attention when Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin attended the opening ceremony. In his remarks, he expressed strong expectations for the technological capabilities of Japanese companies and the growing investments from Chinese EV manufacturers, solidifying the fair’s position as a key venue for cross-national business collaboration in the EV sector.

In 2024, the event was held at a new location in the heart of Hanoi, attracting more buyers and exhibitors than ever before. Over the three days, a total of 8,516 visitors attended—surpassing last year's figure. Active business negotiations took place at many booths, alongside various events such as technical seminars, the Spinning Top Battle, and a robot assembly contest.
Exhibitors noted that the number of visitors, particularly from Japan, had increased compared to the previous year. Many also commented on the high percentage of purposeful visitors, including not only large Japanese corporations but also SMEs from Japan attending with specific procurement goals.
Feedback from exhibitors included appreciation for the booth presentation efforts of local Vietnamese companies, which provided inspiration. Some also observed that unlike other major exhibitions, which often see a high number of Chinese participants, FBC ASEAN stood out with its strong presence of Japanese and local Vietnamese companies. Many exhibitors reported having meaningful business discussions that are expected to lead to future partnerships, confirming that FBC ASEAN successfully fulfilled its role as a platform for new business connections.

■ Event Highlights

The online venue successfully facilitated multinational web-based business meetings, primarily among companies in Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan. Over the course of three days, a total of 812 business meetings were conducted. Participants noted several benefits of online meetings, including the ease of matching, the ability to connect with potential customers and suppliers in distant locations, and significant savings in time and cost. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, online communication has become a standard practice, and many companies have become more proficient in conducting effective virtual meetings. As a result, the overall impression was that negotiations proceeded more smoothly than in the past.At the same time, many participants expressed that they would be interested in exhibiting onsite if conditions allowed. Going forward, we will continue to explore ways to better communicate the value of online business meetings and consider how to strategically combine virtual and physical exhibitions to maximize impact.
